However, you’ll still need to unlock Elite level rewards as well as those gained from campaign progress, but this will be a lot easier with access to Elites. It does not matter if you are new or a veteran. Thankfully the new update opens up all Elites and doctrines for everyone right from the start. Many saw it simply as a waste of time when they could dive in to playing multiplayer skirmishes instead. Especially if playing the single player campaigns will eventually net everyone the same result in the end anyway. Placing key units behind a grind-wall just does the opposite and takes the fun out of the game. While it is understandable for Relic to want to control pacing and introducing restrictions to make gameplay somewhat interesting, some argue it is not necessary. However, this skull currency system displeases many fans. The Warhammer: Dawn of War III “Skulls” System This lets players buy access to doctrines and elites which upgrade their ability to compete online. Playing the campaign on hard for example earns 3000 skulls. The more you play, the more skulls you earn. These ‘skulls’ as they are called in-game, were added to introduce pacing to the multiplayer experience. The third installment of Relic’s Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War is introducing a new patch which takes away the in-game currency.
